Hi Mick ...I checked into the text visibility problem . The system will not allow the background color to be changed. (for groups it uses the main page theme colors) Perhaps iMusic 3 (coming soon)will allow this.
But there is another fix. The full  text editor (used in the discussion area and the pages area)will allow you to choose and change the text color of your group postings.
